Alaina & Jimmy {engaged}

Alaina and Jimmy wanted to have their engagement session at St. James Court, which has quickly become one of my faaaavorite locations for engagement sessions over the past year. The fall colors were so vibrant on this particular day, which created a perfect backdrop to an already really beautiful, historic area in Louisville. One of the things I love most about engagement sessions is that it gives me and the bride and groom a chance to get to know each other better in a more laid back environment. I love every aspect of this job - however, initial consultations and wedding days are filled with lots of formalities, and it’s typically during the engagement session I really start to see the personality of the couple and vice versa. I really enjoyed my time with Alaina and Jimmy, who are actually planning their wedding from the west coast, which made spending this time with them all the better. Thank you Alaina and Jimmy for making time to meet with me during a busy trip back home! I can’t wait to see you both again in a few more months!

Ashlie and Jared {married}

I had the pleasure of photographing Ashlie and Jared’s wedding in October in Lexington, Kentucky. This couple, along with all their friends and family were such a joy to work with for the day!

I started the day at Indigo Salon and Spa with Ashlie, photographing the girls getting ready and listening to Ashlie’s mom tell stories filled with nostalgia (one of my favorite things) while my assistant, David, photographed the guys at the hotel.

The ceremony and reception took place at the Country Boy Brewing Warehouse. It was the first wedding they ever had in the space and it was an honor to help break it in! Every detail of the day was so boho chic - Persian rugs leading up to the alter, velvet shoes for the bride and velvet bow ties for the guys, amazing floral bouquets with foraged details by my friend Amanda with Native Oak Floral… And these two were so fun too! They danced the night away with family and friends and kept us laughing the entire night.

Thank you so much Ashlie and Jared for asking me to photograph your wedding. Congratulations on your new, beautiful marriage!

Kraton & Logan {married}

Kraton and Logan tied the knot in one of the sweetest barn venues I have seen yet. Habit Hill Barn is located in Owensboro, KY and features a barn surrounded by trees with string lights, long farm tables and seating inside the barn, and a cute bridal suite with lots of vintage decor.

Kraton put so much thought and time into planning this wedding! There were so many details: in the decor, the popcorn bar (!!!), live music, fans for guests since it was an August wedding…she even presented me and my second shooter with lunch boxes filled with water bottles, snacks and champagne! It was so thoughtful and unexpected! And to top it all off, Kraton was so relaxed on her wedding day. Way to go, girl!

This wedding was really special - Kraton and Logan wrote their own vows that even made the pastor cry. Well, they made everyone cry. They had also been in a long distance relationship for over the past year and Kraton moved to the east coast just a few days after the wedding to be with Logan. So, it was a really sweet, intimate time with family and friends before a big move and transitioning into life together as husband and wife.

Congratulations Kraton and Logan! Thank you for including me in this beautiful day!

Ashley & Matthew {married}

Ashley and Matthew got married in May at the Covered Bridge Golf Club in Sellersburg, IN.  After a week of questionable weather for their wedding date, it turned out to be a beautiful day!

I started the day at Ashley's home to photograph the girls getting ready, while my second photographer, David, was with the guys.  Then we all traveled to the Golf Club where we spent the rest of the day!  Their ceremony and reception was held on a covered patio overlooking the the rolling hills of the golf club.  It was a beautiful day!  Congratulations Ashley and Matt!

Kate & Sam {married}

Kate and Sam got married on April 7th at the Kentucky Science Center.  They are such a fun couple, I had a great time photographing them during their engagement session, so I was really excited about this wedding!  They had a beautiful, very personalized ceremony by a reverend that has known Kate basically her entire life.  Their reception room overlooked the Ohio River and created a lovely backdrop for a festive evening.  Congratulations Kate and Sam!!

Melissa and Daniel {engaged}

Melissa and Daniel's wedding is still a few months away but I am so excited!!  For their engagement session, they wanted to use the location where they had their first date and got engaged - The Silver Dollar. It's a great local restaurant in Louisville, with very accommodating staff!  I'm so grateful they let us roam the entire restaurant for this session.  Thank you Melissa and Daniel for the fun afternoon!  You guys did a great job.

Chhorvorn & Bradley {married}

Chhorvorn and Bradley had an intimate wedding last weekend with close family and friends.  My personal favorite parts of the day included: the first look between Chhorvorn and Bradley  (You guys, the way he looked at her all day...  He obviously adores her.) as well as observing the subtle Cambodian traditions that were part of the wedding day.  Chhorvorn changed into a beautiful traditional Cambodian wedding dress at the end of the evening and it was such a treat (!!!) to be able to be there for that moment before we left for the evening.  Thank you guys for the laid back day and congratulations on your marriage!

Props to my awesome second photographer, David, for this last image!!

Kelsie & Max {married}

Kelsie and Max got married Valentine's Day weekend at Duncan Memorial Chapel, the *sweetest* little chapel in Louisville.  The day was made perfect with freshly fallen snow and the weather cleared up just in time for us to take some photos outside!

Thank you Kelsie and Max for the fun evening!  Congratulations on your marriage!!

Ashley and Matt

Ashley and Matt are getting married in May and I am SO excited!  They have been together for 14 years (!!!) and it's obvious that they are the closest of friends.  It was so fun photographing these high school sweethearts at Blackacre Conservatory over the weekend.
